Nelson Buss is the co-chair for the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off & Craft Brew Festival. It’s all coming up on Sunday, May 5th – that’s the day you get to do a lot of chili tasting and vote for your favorite. Held during Family-Friendly hours of Noon – 5pm (11:00 am entry for VIP tix), this all-day, extravaganza will be held at Conejo Creek Park North at Janss Rd & Hwy 23 in Thousand Oaks. Carol McGruder is a nationally recognized tobacco control expert and Co-Chair of the African American Tobacco Control Leadership Council. 2019 marks the 10-year anniversary of the Tobacco Control Act, a historic piece of legislation which banned all flavored cigarettes, except menthol. Although cigarette use has been declining in the U.S. in recent years, sales of menthol cigarettes have steadily increased, especially among new smokers and people under 25.
