Featuring essays, profiles, recipes, and more, the book “Why We Cook: Women on Food, Identity, and Connection” is curated and illustrated by author and artist Lindsay Gardner, whose visual storytelling gifts bring nuance and insight into their words and their work, revealing the power of food to nourish, uplift, inspire curiosity, and effect change. Lindsay’s book features 112 women restaurateurs, activists, food writers, professional chefs, and home cooks who tell stories, share recipes, and inspire change in the world of food. Lindsay will be discussing her book and the upcoming International Women’s Day on March 8, 2021.

Elke Scholz is a registered Psychotherapist, an internationally registered Expressive Art Consultant/Educator,  and internationally certified EMDR Therapist. Elke is the author of “Anxiety Warrior”. This practical resource book is full of strategies and exercises to help you manage and lower your anxiety. Along with Elke Scholz, there are five contributors, who are published authors, keynote speakers and leaders, and all are professionals and passionate about empowering people. Elke is bringing hope to those who live with crippling anxiety that is being hugely exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic with racial unrest and natural disasters wreaking havoc across the country.

Nancy Marks is the owner of Glass Arts Collective in Westlake Village, CA. After a successful career in technology, Nancy is blessed living her dream jobs sharing her passions. She started Help Me Plan My Travel 6 years ago, to help with the planning and execution of folks vacations. In February 2020 she opened Glass Arts Collective, her other passion of work with glass art. She wanted to create a friendly, comfortable, and energetic place where the community can come and work with fused glass, mosaic, and stained glass. The studio is designed and equipped to support those dabbling for the first time to experienced artists. The studio is staffed with very talented artists/instructors who share their shared passion of glass through teaching a variety of classes.
