Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good!

March 3, 2015

Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good!

Today I am so excited to share with you some of the secrets I have used as a hair therapist for how you can get the best hair cut whether you are sitting in my chair or not. Does anyone feel nervous or stressed out about thinking or going to a stylist, especially when they ask you what you want? If you are like a lot of my clients, they don’t know what they want, and that is why they are there in my chair. They are in need of my professional opinion and expertise.

Well, what I am going to talk with you about today can hopefully make that stress a little easier to manage! We all usually want what we don’t have. If you have curly hair, you probably want straight hair, or vice-a-versa. Does that sound familiar?
If you’ve ever experienced a good haircut, then you can relate to my favorite saying, “LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD, DO GOOD”. Because everything you do with your style will work for you in the long run  Why? Because it was cut for you, your type, and style.
Lets start here. What’s your lifestyle and how much up keep are you willing to do on your hair? Are you more casual during your day? An office executive? A busy, sporty mom? Your lifestyle is an important component that is often overlooked. The next thing we need to look at is your facial shape. You want a cut that fits and frames your face, like a picture. The right cut for your shape, and the right length, should add lift to your look.
Another important factor is your type of hair. Is it fine, coarse, or thick? Each type needs to be cut differently and there are different products out there that can help with the needs of each hair type. From there, we can look at your cut. Whether it’s a blunt cut, layered cut, or slide cut, it is important to have the right one for you. There are rules for things such as layering for long versus short hair, cuts for those with curls and those without. Bangs don’t come in only one option, there are many to choose from!
Now, lets discuss colors. Coloring can really add to your facial features and be a powerful way to give boost and lift to your face. Your coloring should really make your eyes pop! Sometimes even just mixing in a little color can set off your look in a bold new way.
Finally, lets talk about styling. Playing with how you blow dry it, straighten it, and part it can make a big difference. Try styling your hair as an “up do” for fun, zig-zag your part, or put your part on the other side. Don’t be afraid, and when in doubt, ask your stylist!
Once you know your style, you can take it anywhere and ask for what you want with confidence. Your stylist will be working with you to make you feel the best because remember… when you look good, so do we! The biggest message I want to share with you today is to be happy with what we’ve been given, and learn to enjoy it!
Yours truly,
Kim Pagano (805) 419-0008
