Don’t Leave Any Life on the Table

February 1, 2020

This is your invitation to join in on all the community fun!

If you are already partaking in our incredible community, good for you! That would mean you have ventured out to see the arts and entertainment right here in our own backyard. We have so many venues—let me share a few of them with you. Let me start with our beautiful Civic Center, known as Bank of America Performing Arts Center in Thousand Oaks, which always has incredible shows. In the same venue you’ll find 5-Star Theatricals, the Award-winning resident musical theatre production company of the Civic Arts Plaza. Down the street is Conejo Players Theatre, home to talented screenwriters highlighting their plays. Several area wineries offer great tasting wine and brews and often feature live music and comedy shows.

Moving into Camarillo, there are several great restaurants, one being Manhattan of Camarillo, a supper club for Italian dining, plus live entertainment and Trivia on Thursdays. I will be hosting Bunco night in their beautiful private room in the new year. They also have a Madison Beer Garden, offering full bar and craft beer selections in a more casual atmosphere.

If you’re into art, a must is Studio Channel Islands Art Studios where you’ll find great events and talented artists. I should also mention the various community wine and brew festivals, featuring local vendors and all the food you can eat. These events are not only fun, but many of them help support the amazing organizations that help our communities give back.

Moving closer to Ventura is another one of my favorites, the Rubicon Theatre, which always features excellent shows. Of course, the beaches are full of pure beauty all the way up the coast, as is the quaint town of Ojai. So, when you’re thinking about entertainment, think local—even the movie theaters have monthly comedies and great movies.

In this new year, plan to enjoy something new every month. I love to support these talented artists and local businesses. I invite you to live outside your box and give them a try!
