Don’t have a critical eye or be negative…
It will poison your entire outlook on life!
What do I mean by having a critical eye? Are you the kind of person walks into a new place and sees all the things wrong? Try to be the person with the rose colored glasses. I’m not saying to be ignorant to your surroundings, but instead start looking at the brighter side of life. “The glass half full rather than half empty”.
Just smile. Sometimes I literally have to bring myself in front of a mirror and force myself to smile. It really does help change your mood and relieve stress. I also feel lighter because it takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown. Remember to always surround yourself with positive people.
I sometimes call a friend who I know could give me constructive, yet loving feedback. When you’re stuck in a negative spiral, talk to people who can put things back into perspective and won’t feed your negative thinking. Change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive.
Don’t play the victim in your life. You can make your life the way you truly would like it to be. Take responsibility for yourself and your actions. If you have a story that keeps repeating, change it by first changing the outcome in your mind. Take the focus away from you and do something nice for another person. It really helps to change the tone of your thoughts from negative to positive. For example, instead of thinking, “We are going to have a hard time adjusting to a situation,” think, “We will face some challenges in this situation, but we will come up with solutions that we will both be happy with.” Remember that no one is perfect, and let yourself continue to move forward.
