Orbi Rosario is the director of the GoodGuides mentoring program for Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, where he is dedicated to helping teens avoid the choices he once made and Hanna Strope is a GoodGuides mentor. The GoodGuides program serves youth, ages 12–17, who are at risk of dropping out of school and/or falling into delinquency. The program helps them finish school, transition into the world of work and prepare for success by pairing them with trusted adult volunteer mentors.
Dr. Margaret Wilson is Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of UnitedHealthcare Global. She joined UnitedHealthcare in 2008, bringing more than 20 years of experience in the health care field. Her experience includes internal and geriatric medicine, health care quality management and clinical/medical teaching. She has earned various honors for her work, including for promoting cultural diversity in medical education, and has published more than 70 articles in medical journals and textbooks.
Alan Yatvin and Dr. Linda Siminerio will be talking about the American Diabetes Association’s Safe At School Campaign dedicated to making sure all children with diabetes are medically safe at school, are treated fairly and have the same educational opportunities as their peers. This is accomplished through tools, resources and guidance provided to families by the Association’s legal advocates to aid in the development of written plans to avoid problems and to find solutions when problems do occur.
