Christina Nepstad‘s passion for helping women understand that true communication starts with self-awareness has led to her coaching some of the world’s most talented and courageous women. She credits all of them with the success of The Power Seat. Born and raised in Southern California, Christina’s college studies were interrupted by an international modeling career which gave her a unique insight into women’s self-esteem. Married with two children, when she’s not coaching or working on humanitarian projects, she is happiest taking care of her family and friends, enjoying long walks and beautiful sunsets.



Colleen Saidman Yee is an internationally respected yoga teacher. For 30 years, she was a top global fashion model, represented by Elite and Ford Models. She opened Yoga Shanti Sag Harbor in 1999; and since then has opened locations in New York City and Westhampton Beach, which she runs with her husband, Rodney Yee, and partners. With Donna Karan and Rodney, Colleen created and runs the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy Program, utilized in healthcare facilities around the country.

Noelle C. Nelson, PhD, has authored over a dozen books, all of which focus on empowering individuals to be happier, healthier and more successful in their personal lives, at work, at home and in relationships. Her latest book is “Happy Healthy…Dead: Why What You Think You Know About Aging Is Wrong and How To Get It Right”.



The City Center Transitional Living of Ventura’s Charleen Morla, Jim Duran, and Monica Robles will speak about their upcoming event “Life Worth Living” Informational Breakfast on Thursday January 28th. It features inspiring stories about three individuals on a quest for change.

Nancie McDermott is an expert on the food and culture of Thailand where she lived for 3 years as a Peace Corps volunteer. She has written 10 cookbooks, including “Simply Vietnamese Cooking: 135 Delicious Recipes”. She is a frequent guest chef on television and radio and also writes for newspapers and magazines.


Laura Cipullo is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian, and creator of Mom Dishes It Out. She makes frequent guest appearances on The Dr. Oz Show, Fox News and Headline News. She is also the author of “The Diabetes Comfort Food Diet”.

Jeremy Friedman, MD, MB.ChB, FRCPC, FAAP, is the Chief of Paediatric Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children and a Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto. He is a co-author of  “Baby Care Basics”, which offers a comprehensive guide to help parents make the right choices for that new baby.


Dr. Johannes F. Coy discovered the TKTL 1 metabolism route while working at the renowned German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg. He then founded a pharmaceutical company & two diagnostic companies in order to begin development of new cancer therapies and tests. He is co-author of “The Cancer Fighting Diet”.

Peter Przekop, D.O., Ph.D., is an academic physician with appointments in neurology, pediatrics, and psychiatry and an osteopath who directs the pain management track at the Betty Ford Center, a part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. He is Board Certified in Neurology and Addiction Medicine. Since 2004, he has been a member of the faculty at Loma Linda University Medical School, where he holds appointments in psychiatry, pediatrics, and neurology.  His interests are in the relationship between pain and brain dysfunction, and he utilizes various techniques including functional imaging studies. He founded the Pediatric Chronic Pain and Headache Clinic at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in 2008.  He has published over 40 articles and is active in teaching students, residents, and fellows.


Jeff Jay is a professional interventionist and author. He is a certified addictions professional who has served as president of the Terry McGovern Foundation in Washington, DC, and on the boards of directors for the Michigan Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, Dawn Farm, and the Employee Assistance Professionals Association of Greater Detroit. He currently serves on the advisory board of Jefferson House, in Detroit, MI.

Richard Giordano went on to Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and biology, and a master’s degree in educational administration. He is the author of “Super-Charged Learning – How Wacky Thinking and Sports Psychology Make It Happen”.


Audrey Walzer, voted “Ventura County’s Best” yoga teacher from 2011 through 2014, is the owner and director of the Camarillo Yoga Center, voted “Ventura County’s Best” Yoga Studio. Audrey has taught movement and yoga for almost 4 decades, and specializes in “yoga for regular people,” combining mindfulness and physical practice.
